Why The Suffolk Escape could be the ideal escape this year (and always!)

You may have started thinking about a last-minute holiday for later this year. Maybe you are planning a UK holiday for next year, taking the opportunity to make the most of all our beautiful country has to offer.

We thought we’d share why a stay at our small, family-run luxury self-catering accommodation might just be the escape you’re looking for this year. And – as a huge number of our returning guests would agree – for many years to come and not just in the current climate.

Self-Catering in the Country

Set in the heart of a small, rural village in the county of Suffolk, our four log cabins and an award-winning barn for large groups are nestled away on our 300acre farm. With nothing but fields surrounding them it’s a remote spot. Patchworked together by a single private track and rolling farmland.

Being self-catering accommodation means you have full control over who and what goes into your holiday home. You can simply retreat and enjoy the tranquillity of the location – not seeing another guest for your entire stay. The log cabins and large barn are fully equipped with everything you could need. There are no communal facilities and plenty of space around each property for you to relax in. In fact, many guests tell us how they change their plans of days out exploring or restaurant reservations because they’re enjoying the log cabins or the barn so much that they don’t want to leave!

Despite the rural location, most of the major supermarkets will deliver your food order directly to your cabin or the barn to save you heading out. That means you can start your holiday as soon as you arrive. There are also independent farm shops close by that are operating social distance shopping of high-quality food produce. Please be assured that the local medical centre and pharmacies are a 5minute drive away in our closest market town, Hadleigh, should you need anything.

Luxury Log Cabins with Hot Tubs

We have just four Scandinavian-inspired, luxury log cabins that are set around a lake. Privacy and space have been given much consideration in the design and layout. Each lodge has a private, secluded hot tub, outdoor dining overlooking the lake, chimineas and bbqs (in the warmer months) and log burners to keep it cosy in the winter. The cabins can sleep up to four adults in two large bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms either end of the cabin and an open plan living space. They are a truly idyllic retreat and are perfect for those wishing to escape everyday life for a relaxing break.

Award-winning Barn

Our award-winning large barn, the Sheepyard Barn, is set in a beautiful spot approx. one mile from the road. You’ll feel as if you’re driving into the middle of nowhere and then the barn will slowly come into view – the only building you’ll see for miles. Able to accommodate up to 12 guests, it offers lots of space and facilities to keep all guests occupied from the youngest to the oldest. The most popular is the indoor swimming pool which also features a Fastlane counter current swim machine making it fun for the children but offers the opportunity to train and keep fit – all with a view of the surrounding fields through the floor to ceiling glass window at one end of the pool. The wood fired pizza oven ensures a fun cooking experience of pizza making and the home cinema system makes ‘film night’ really special. But you still can’t beat the simplicity of beautiful outdoor space, hammocks rocking gently in the breeze and a timber framed outdoor lounge to stop, relax and unwind.

Our Very Best For You

As with everything at the moment, there will be some changes to our normal way of life and for guests when they arrive but they certainly won’t change the relaxing and peaceful experience that we are sure you will have when staying here. Those who have stayed with us before will know our standard levels of cleanliness is exceptionally high. We encourage those who will be visiting us for the first time to read reviews on Trip Advisor so you can read for yourself how seriously we take the cleanliness of our properties. But rest assured we are already working on additional cleaning protocols in line with Government guidance and leading bodies within the industry to ensure as safe an environment as possible. Being there for our guests and providing exceptional customer service will still be the very best we can offer and we hope you’ll feel very well looked after.

If you did want to talk to us prior to booking to find out more about the ‘new normal’ then please do get in touch.

We’ll be happy to chat. We hope to welcome guests here very soon.
