If you have a holiday booked here at The Suffolk Escape at some point during the rest of the year and are looking for an activity for a cooler or rainy day, we suggest giving yourself a few hours out to go to the cinema, top and/or tailed with a little food indulgence.

Nestled in Ipswich’s Buttermarket Shopping Centre, just 15 minutes from The Suffolk Escape, the new Empire Cinema boasts the ultimate cinematic viewing experience.

It has luxury seating as standard but also offers leather recliners, double sofas and extra legroom. For those looking for more than just comfort while watching a film, Empire Cinema Ipswich has D-Box seats to really boost your viewing. Your cinema chair is synchronised to the film and mimics movements and vibrations on screen! It’ll pitch back and forth, roll from side to side and heave up and down. You can even control the level of intensity of the movements from your seat. It’s quite an experience!

To make more of your cinema trip, we recommend a bite to eat at The Cosy Club which is situated near to the cinema. It offers a good selection of tempting tapas as well as a wider menu to satisfy any potential rumblings during a couple of hours film watching or to look forward to once you’re back in the real world . Or for the more sweet-toothed amongst us (that most definitely includes The Suffolk Escape office team!), we love treating ourselves to the most delicious Italian gelato at Creams Cafe, within walking distance of the Empire Cinema.
