Review with an Infant
Trip Advisor Review – “Lovely” . It has excellent advice if you are thinking of coming with a toddler under 1 yr.
“Really gorgeous cabin in a perfect location. Feels remote but is close to local amenities and attractions. Very well appointed cabin. Enormous and comfy bed. Modern kitchen. Huge bath and shower. Even included two pre stamped post cards for us to use. All very luxurious. Our only tip – not really a criticism just a tip – it’s not meant for children. They do not allow children under 14 but they do allow babies. We just found that it wasn’t baby friendly for a ten month old who wants to explore. Hard wood floors with furniture that slides about. Lots of fun things to climb on etc. The log burner or a raised plinth in the lounge. All open plan so cannot shut off kitchen etc. Lots of steps on the decking area so couldn’t let him loose in his walker or anything outside. And the flat bit outside went right to the waters edge. The hot tub is in a pretty screened off area around the corner from the cabin. Nice and secluded but not able to see into the babies room and cannot lock the door from outside so we didn’t feel comfy using the hot tub in the evening after baby had gone to bed and having to not see him or be able to lock the door. That’s just our experience. Perfect for grown ups. Really lovely and everything has been thought of. But not hugely infant friendly. So if you are thinking of a peaceful escape with your little ones – this might not be hugely peaceful for you. We had to spend much of our time out and exploring and minimal time in the cabin as it was just easier with our now mobile infant. If you do not have little ones then we cannot fault Suffolk escapes at all. We loved it.
Supermarket working 10mins. Attractions close by. Sutton hoo is a must. As is Dedham. Ipswich is not!!
So please do not think we are criticising Suffolk escapes, we are not. Just a heads up to anyone with under 1’s.”
