Luxury Festive Break
Whether you’re looking for a peaceful retreat to escape the hustle and bustle of Christmas or a celebration with friends or family, our Scandinavian-inspired log cabins offer a perfect setting for a special break over the festive period.
We tastefully decorate the cabins with a gorgeously scented real Christmas tree from a neighbouring farm and the natural wood and cosiness of the cabin create a real haven. With generous bedrooms, there is plenty of space to store any presents should you wish to bring them and a large, fully-equipped kitchen for creating a delicious Christmas or New Year dinner. The icing on the cake is always a sparkling frost (or even a fine layer of snow!) across the lake.
On arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a festive hamper, the wood burning stove ready to create that soft orange glow and warmth, and the radio with speakers throughout the cabin is all yours to tune into as many Christmas songs as you can handle!
We recommend The Jolly Meat Company as the go-to place for expertise and high quality produce for pre-ordering your Christmas or New Year food, or wander around the aisles of the bustling farm shops, such as, Hollow Trees Farm or the Suffolk Food Hall, to find culinary inspiration for your special meals over the festive period.
For those who don’t want to cook and would prefer to enjoy a Christmas or New Year meal out, we can recommend a number of nearby restaurants and pubs who will make your day with excellent service and a mouth-watering menu. Some of our favourites are Hintlesham Golf Club, The Bildeston Crown and The Bell Inn in Kersey.
The near by villages come to life at night time with lots of twinkling lights and decorations laced from tree to tree and running along the beautiful timber beamed cottages and houses. The historic towns of Bury St Edmunds and Lavenham create a vibrant atmosphere with their lights and markets, and their historic buildings make for particularly stunning features. Other local towns, such as, Ipswich, Woodbridge, Framlingham and Clare all offer shops, restaurants, cafes, late night shopping, historical features and are pleasurable places to visit.
If you’re not in need of shopping or want to escape the lights, Suffolk has a beautiful coast line, meandering rivers, castles and plenty of woodland walks to enjoy on a bright and crisp winters day.
If you’re looking for activities, there a plenty of local events to suit everyone from Christmas markets and fairs, midnight mass and Boxing Day swims for the brave! Two of our favourite events in the lead up to Christmas are Bury St Edmunds Christmas Market and Lavenham Christmas Fair. Bustling, cheery atmosphere, lots of interesting stalls, inspiring and full of tasty treats!
Of course, if you’d rather hide away from it all, our log cabins provide an idyllic retreat with a promise of peace, quiet, luxury accommodation and a real sense of being a million miles from anywhere.
We hope to see you over the festive period for whatever type of escape you’re looking for.
