Hear it from the children…
We love hearing from our guests – whether it’s getting feedback on places they’ve visited, recommendations for new venues/activities/eateries to share with other guests or simply listening to the wonderful experiences they’ve had while holidaying in Suffolk. It brings a smile to our face and helps us make experiences for future guests even more fulfilling.
We get lots of opportunities to chat to our guests but were delighted to be able to catch up with the children of a family staying in our Sheepyard Barn to find out what activities families enjoy while staying here in Suffolk during the holidays. These guests certainly packed a lot into their stay!
Below are some of the places that the family visited, hopefully they will give you some ideas and you will find something that looks up your ally.
Beacon Rally Karts
Beacon Rally Karts has been run by the Abbott family since it opened in 2002 – that’s nearly 9 years of individual people turning up ready to race, thousands of parties, corporate days out, stag and hen do’s, birthday parties and work parties. They’ve all met us and come back.
Aldeburgh
A wonderful mix of family fun, music and drama, fine eating and drinking, sailing and shopping – something for everyone in the friendliest atmosphere you’ll wish to find on the Suffolk Heritage Coast.

Orford Castle

Discover one of England’s most complete and unusual keeps, at this fascinating visitor attraction in Suffolk. The unique polygonal tower keep of Orford Castle stands beside the pretty town and former port, which Henry II also developed here. The castle is remarkably intact allowing visitors to explore from the basement, through the lower and upper halls to the roof where there are magnificent views seaward to Orford Ness. Around the rooms is a maze of passages leading to the chapel, kitchen and other chambers in the turrets.
