Beautiful Beaches for a Summer in Suffolk
With the warmer weather continuing and the holiday season about to take off, we thought it was worth taking a whistle stop tour around some of the beaches and coastal towns and villages of Suffolk.
There are many to enjoy and something for everyone. Here are some of our favourite Suffolk beaches.
A firm favourite with visitors to Suffolk and those who live here. A charming seaside town, lined with beautiful beach huts and a quirky pier.
A quieter, yet wild and windswept, sand and shingle beach with grassy dunes and surrounded by marsh and heathland. A great spot for crabbing (self appointed Crabbing Capital!) and a delightful foot ferry to hop over to Southwold.
A lovely mix of a lively, family-friendly promenade with more rural stretches, and home to the Languard Peninsula, one of England’s best preserved coastal defences.
A small village brimming with history and a shingle beach, owned be the National Trust, that’s surrounded by nature reserves. A particularly great spot for birdwatchers, dog walkers and those seeking a quieter beach.
With a sloping shingle beach to some sand when the tide is low, Thorpeness is known as a peaceful yet quirky coastal village. Home to the famous ‘Meare‘ in the heart of the village which offers a variety of boating activities.
