Everything for the Perfect Experience
Here at The Suffolk Escape we offer more than just self-catering accommodation, we aim to offer a farm and rural experience. The Suffolk Escape site itself has been designed from concept to creation around a brief to give guests a tranquil setting in which to relax in, with ample space around the properties.
Our self catering properties, being set in the middle of our family farm, means there is plenty to do and see whilst out and about but you also get that unique remote feeling at your holiday property.
The guests staying at our Sheepyard Barn in particular, are set right among the fields and experience the crops being harvested right outside the window.
There is an abundance of wildlife on our farm and within a short walk you could be watching deer grazing in the fields, barn owls hunting the wildflower meadows and at dusk spotting badges heading out for a forage.
For those staying in our Sheepyard Barn we have included the “Sheep Dip”, an indoor swimming pool. It is build right in the heart of the building with the door opening into the lounge. It is perfect for those training for Triathlons/Iron Man or generally keeping fit as the swimming pool features an Endless Pool Fastlane counter-current machine to swim against. Being a smaller pool it is ideal for children to swim in and gain their confidence.
There are some great cycling routes in the area whether out for a gentle cruise or for some more serious distances. For those more active cyclist you can head straight out onto country lanes and take yourself out to the heritage coast or the tourist circular route taking in the best sights of Suffolk.
For those after a ride with a well earned lunch we include a turn by turn guide for the 6mile route to the quaint village of Kersey. The cycling route is along the quiet back roads and at the end of the ride the Bell Inn awaits you with their roaring fire, real ales and home cooked food.
Just 1 mile away from The Suffolk Escape is the Hintlesham Golf Club. It has a well-earned reputation for being a friendly and welcoming venue which many of our guests visit for a bite to eat or drink. The 18hole course is set in 150 acres of tranquil rolling Suffolk countryside neighbouring our farm.
We are not golfers but we are regular visitors and enjoy sitting on the large deck, relaxing with a light lunch and a drink taking in the stunning views. As guests of ours you receive member’s discounted rates on food and drinks and also discounts on a round of golf.
Suffolk has a fast growing reputation as one of the leading producers of high quality food and drinks. More and more people are putting greater emphasis on the quality of the food they eat and where it comes from, and we have taken that knowledge on board when developing The Suffolk Escape.
As a result, we provide you with very large kitchens, with lots of worktop space and full of high quality equipment so you can easily produce some tasty dishes with local produce. We also provide Weber Charcoal Kettle barbecues at all our properties and the Sheepyard Barn even has a wood fired pizza oven.
If you are feeling less creative then there a number of take away venues in Hadleigh or you can spoil yourself and our private chef can come into the property and cook you an unforgettable dinner.
A benefit of staying at The Suffolk Escape is that your are staying on a working farm and you can see the activity going on around you. There is also some livestock to enjoy on the farm, we have a small flock of sheep on the meadows and some hens in the farmyard laying eggs for our guests.
So even though you are staying in a remote location here at The Suffolk Escape, there is plenty going on to keep you occupied should you choose.
