Suffolk Escape Experiences

Here at the Suffolk Escape we aim to offer more than just a roof over your head, we want to help you to experience a holiday that you will never forget. We appreciate how busy lives are these days and sometimes you just do not have time to plan your holiday as much as you would like to. Therefore we use Andrew’s 10 years of experience organising unique holidays all around the world to create bespoke experiences here in Suffolk.

Below are a few ideas to whet the appetite but with our local knowledge and guidance we can work with you to develop an unforgettable escape.

Suffolk Food Trails

Head off on your personal Suffolk Food Trail visiting the very best food producers in the region. Then bring your superb produce back to your cabin and make the most of the extensive kitchens to prepare the freshest, highest quality food, perhaps fire up the barbeque, grill your fish and then dine on your deck over the lake.

We will supply you with a cool box to help transport your produce, a list of local producers, farm shops, farmers markets and recommendation of places to visit. There are also several cookery books in the cabins to help you create a culinary masterpiece.

Potential stops include:

  • Jimmy’s Farm shop, as seen on television
  • Artisan Breads from the Pump Street Bakery
  • Suffolk Farmhouse Cheeses, fine hand-made cheeses from their own herd of cattle
  • Have a tour of Adnams brewery or taste some of their range of award winning ales in the pubs in the lovely seaside town of Southwold.  You can also visit their extensive shop to purchase some beer/fine wine
  • Meet our friendly fisherman in Aldeburgh who will be on the beach selling his catch from that morning.  We can even arrange for you to go and catch your own on a sea fishing experience!
  • We also recommend a lunch stop at Aldeburgh for the finest fish and chips in the UK, if not the world!

Sailing Days

Sailing days provide you with the ideal opportunity to soak up the invigorating sea air and first class services of one of the UK’s premier boating locations on the East Coast.

We are in partnership with Viking Mariners, situated in Ipswich, on the beautiful River Orwell, who’s sailing yachts and power vessels are fully equipped to provide you with everything needed to make your day truly unique.

They can offer you something new, exciting and professional all arranged and managed to suit your exact requirements. We will work hand-in-hand with you to meticulously plan the experience and take care of all the details, so you can be confident that everything will be exceptional and exactly as anticipated.

Perhaps start with coffee and pastries and then sail down the River Orwell before mooring or anchoring for lunch on board. In the afternoon, you can sail upstream, arriving back at the marina early in the evening. The choice is yours: sit back, relax and enjoy the fantastic views or take a turn at the helm. The skipper will be delighted to show you the ropes.

We can supply you with a route of recommended destinations, make prior reservations for you or even arrange a chauffeur driven car to ensure you can make the most of the delights on offer.
