Dogs Need Holidays Too

Our Dog-Friendly Holidays

We believe the family dog is just that, a member of the family and deserves a holiday too! We think that if you have a well-trained, clean, well-behaved dog and want them to join in the family holiday, you should not compromise on quality when it comes to your holiday accommodation.

We have house-rules for our four legged guests, but they are just what you would expect in a luxury holiday property – such as not being allowed on the sofas or beds. After all, the barn wouldn’t stay ‘luxury’ for very long if we allowed this, would it?

Our high cleaning standards ensure that guests without dogs can confidently stay in our barn without detecting doggie smells and hairs! However, it would be almost impossible to maintain these high standards if our ‘house rules’ for dogs were not respected, so we appreciate your co-operation and respect for others staying after you.

We ask that dogs sleep in our entrance porch and we have ensured this underfloor heated for extra luxury for our four legged holiday makers.

Your dog will get their own welcome pack and we look forward to meeting them too. There is a £20 charge per dog, per stay.

House Rules for Dogs:

  • Dogs are not permitted on any furniture, ie. sofas and beds – even with covers applied
  • Dogs are not permitted in the bedrooms, we suggest sliding the bedroom wing door closed to keep them out
  • At night dogs are to sleep in the porch area only
  • Dogs are not permitted to be left in the building unattended for more than a couple of hours and only with restricted access to the porch
  • Dogs are never to be left unattended in the open plan living space or anywhere else inside other than the porch at anytime
  • Please ensure that you pick up your dog’s “deposits” when they are outside the barn and around the farm. You can put your bagged deposits in the “Normal Waste” bin behind the Shearing Shed. We have many families with young children who stay with us so it is important to clean up after your dog.
  • The interior and grounds of the property must be left in a clean, undamaged condition
  • Keep your dog under close control at all times for their own safety as well as the comfort of others
  • Be aware there is a footpath running along our farm track so other dogs and people could be in the area
  • Dogs must be clean and dry before entry to the barn, there is a hose available on request and a covered area outside for your dog to dry out in
  • Your dog must be at least 1 year old and flea controlled at the time of your holiday

Important Note:

If we find dogs have been where they shouldn’t – ie. the bedrooms or on any furniture – or caused any kind of damage whatsoever, then we will charge you for reinstating the barn and its contents to the condition they were before you arrived.

We are sorry to be firm but we have had to be strict after some guests abused our hospitality and by sneaking a dog into our pet-free log cabins. They let them have free reign over the furniture and shut them in on their own leading to them clawing and scratching the cabin timbers.
