Testimonials

“WOW”, was absolutely what we uttered when we opened the door to our gorgeous cabin. As lovely as the cabins are from the outside, it is no indication of the luxury that awaits you when you walk in. The cabin was incredibly spacious and beautifully kitted out. As an interior designer, I am horribly snobbish about staying anywhere unless it’s as nice or as comfortable, than my own home. Wood floors, sumptuous sofas and the delightful warmth of a wood burning stove, already lit, meant I was not disappointed!  The kitchen is immaculate and a very good size with dishwasher, washer/dryer and a fab induction hob and oven. So much thought has gone into equipping it (a food processor!) Andrew had left us an unexpected welcome pack including some freshly laid eggs from the farm and some locally made sausages, more of which we purchased from the farm ‘ honesty ‘hut, as they were SO delicious! The two ensuite bedrooms were equally luxurious, so no squabbling over a Master Bed. As our toes sunk into the velvety carpet we spotted the bathrooms. Another, “Wow”, as they were 5 star, with state of the art stand alone baths and powerful, large showers with White Company products.  We looked out from one of the 3 sets of French doors onto our lakeside deck, the moon glinting on the water, glass of red in hand, fire glowing and said how much we look forward to returning. The summer will be gorgeous as the deck furniture is a huge PVC rattan modular sofa and behind that, in a discreet corner, a hot tub awaits.  Absolute heaven!  Thank you Andrew & Sarah.  We only hope we will be able to come back soon.”

“My husband and I were looking for something special for our first holiday without the kids and the Suffolk escape answered the quest perfectly. We stayed in the “Lavenham” cabin and it was peaceful and secluded. The only noise that could be heard was the swallows dancing on the top of the water. The furnishings are superb, every gadget you could possibly want has been supplied, the bathrooms are to die for ( love the bath) and the bed is huge and luxurious. The welcome food pack was yummy as were the local cakes and eggs in the honesty shop. Andrew was helpful in suggesting places to eat and local sights but to be honest there is no need to go anywhere as the cabin was perfect with such a lovely seating area on the deck to relax when not in the hot tub! Will be returning as soon as we can escape from the kids again.”

“The log cabins have been designed and put together with absolute attention to detail and luxury in mind. There are no corners cut and the results are fantastic. A few days here just wasn’t enough as we wanted to stay longer! The setting too was fantastic, a short drive from local amenities and great for just chilling with a book and a beer on the riverside balcony. The hot tubs are clean and fantastic, not at all looked over. Andrew was very welcoming and on hand to answer any queries, there were lovely touches & throughout our stay we felt very looked after. I would highly recommend Suffolk Escapes and expect they will be soon fully booked in the future.”

“Just got back from a Monday to Friday stay and I can honestly say this place is fab. Firstly Andrew the owner couldn’t be more helpful before and during our stay. I’ve said this in other reviews but I only want to stay somewhere that is as good or better than my home and this far exceeded my expectations. It was not only spotlessly clean but beautifully decorated to a really high standard including the furnishings that were top notch. I’ve been struggling with a bad neck/migraines and the bed was so comfortable (i was pain free) I’ve just gone out and bought the same pillows and am considering getting the mattress too (as ours needs changing). The bathroom made me jealous and the lighting was well thought out. We were lucky with the weather and spent the whole time sunbathing, eating on the patio and dipping in the hot tub. It was all just perfect. As we have never rented a property before I didn’t really know what was included but there was much more than I had expected from a hair dryer, hair straighteners, to BBQ tools. I didn’t notice on the website but each cabin had a huge outside umbrella (I nearly made my other half bring our own) which was a godsend in the heat. All in all a highly recommended place to stay for peace and quiet.”

“Three signs of a true escape are when you feel a million miles from home, can’t remember what day it is & never want to leave & the space that Andrew & Sarah have created in the lovely suffolk countryside does exactly those things…Simple yet sumptuous & stylish, the homely & personal touches shine through. We arrived to the family farm, welcomed by Andrew who directed us down to our cabin. We pulled up & soon discovered Aldeburgh was all we’d hoped for & more! Andrew joined us a bit later to give us the guided your & to explain how to use the appliances & hot tub etc. The informal, warm nature of his welcome is something you rarely find these days.  The luxury speaks for itself- the hot tub, the bath, bed, furnishings, audio & tv systems & the lovely, well thought out kitchen complete with homemade chocolate cake & pastries. However it takes much more than that to make a place feel idyllic & relaxing. You can sense the care that has been put in & the atmosphere that Andrew & Sarah have wanted to create & have done so perfectly. A more than comprehensive guide folder shows they have thought of everything.  We had sunshine & showers but enjoyed every part of cabin living from the lovely aroma of the timbers to the rain pattering on the deck & watching the lake change throughout with it’s 25 new ducklings!! Spotted on our walks from the farm were deer, barn owl, bats, Canadian geese, countless varieties of butterflies, birds & the farm’s own black pigs who were very pleased to see us with scraps!  We will definately be spreading the Suffolk Escape Love & will be back :)”
